*grins* Man, if you made it all the way to White Night and still didn't click with the main character - yeah, well, it's not like you didn't try. :D And I have certainly hit that wall on some series, including ones that a lot of my flist adored. (The biggest example that comes to mind is Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond books. Wildly popular in fannish circles, but my utter loathing of the hero made me give up somewhere around book 4.) Different people have different tastes, after all.
