Some things for a post

I really liked this week's Fringe! It felt like a throwback to season one: a compelling, suspenseful episode that (except for a few story-arc bits) stood very well on its own, rather than merely being a vehicle to move the season arc along. One of my disappointments with this and the previous season, compared to the first two, is that I really miss the stand-alone-casefile episodes, that were interesting and exciting all on their own without relying too heavily on context. This one had that feeling to it. Of course, I will never not be a sucker for "small group of heroes, cut off from help, fighting for survival against mysterious enemy", too.

Other random comments of randomness:

I'm delighted to see there are a ton of meta "plotbunnies" up for grabs at month-of-meta: suggestion post on LJ / suggestion post on DW. (Note: there are different comments at each one, so you may wish to check both for ideas!) If you like the idea of writing something, but aren't sure what you'd like to write about (or if you're still a little unclear on the exact definition of "meta") go take a look for ideas!

[personal profile] terajk is running a fanworks fest for characters with navigational impairments: Heroes Arrive Last. Discussion, prompts, fic, art, squee, even original work -- anything is welcome!

I've mentioned this before, but I'm intermittently reccing White Collar fic (and occasionally other kinds of fanworks) over at [livejournal.com profile] whitecollar_rec, and they could always use more reccers. Any pairing or genre is welcome, and you don't need to sign up or anything; just post a rec. The rules are in the userinfo.

And [community profile] fanart_recs is always looking for reccers too - here's the signup post.

[livejournal.com profile] collarcorner is having a new round of White Collar commentfic this month, as well.

I know there were other things I wanted to namedrop here, but I've forgotten them ...
