Echo Bazaar people: I am stuck, stuck, stuck in the Labyrinth of Tigers. I've been trying to advance my "Making Progress ..." quality to 14 so that I can move along to Coil 4, but I simply cannot figure out what I have to do to make it bump up from 13 to 14. I've tried EVERYTHING I can think of, but all I'm doing is racking up lots and lots of glim feeding the fish *g*. Can someone give me a teensy tiny hint, perhaps regarding which challenge is involved, or in what way I have to think outside the box in order to get it to happen? (Unless I'm either overlooking something obvious, or need one of my scores higher than it is. I hope this isn't something I need Persuasive for, because if so, I'm doomed. It's my worst score by far.)

I am no help, I am only here to say kudos for getting that far! I could never get my dangerous/making progress to work to get ANY options in the 3rd coil. Seriously. Every time I got there, the only option was "go back to the 2nd coil". So I gave up. >.>

I forget if it's a card or an action at your lodgings, but you get a letter that ups your quality from 13 to 14.

Thank you for the link! I've been trying to avoid spoilers, so I keep forgetting that the wiki exists (but this is one of those cases where I don't mind being spoiled *g*).

I got stuck for some time at Coil 3, 'til I figured out that you have to go back to earlier coils in order to raise your "making progress" high enough to start unlocking Coil 3 options. Just getting there isn't enough.

Ohhhhhh! That would explain why I can't find it anywhere in the various coil 1-3 actions - thank you!

Say, does that mean I can leave the labyrinth without resetting my "making progress" quality? I've been scrupulously trying not to get bounced to another location (as the opportunity cards sometimes do) because I was afraid I'd reset my "making progress" quality back to zero, and as much time as I've spent in the labyrinth so far, the very idea of having to start from zero was enough to make me want to cry. *g*

Leaving won't reset your quality. I don't even think it moves you back to the first coil, though that may be a benefit of getting into the fourth coil. It's been a while since I did that part of it.

Oh, that's a tremendous relief. :D At the very least, it means I can go work on other challenges when I start getting frustrated with the labyrinth. I thought that once I was here, I'd have to stay here 'til I finished.

Hmm. Maybe I hit a bug, because every time I backtracked, my progress dropped, and I could not get it up past just enough to get to 3. >.>

Hmm. Possibly what was dropping was your "Navigating Coil ..." quality? There are two separate stats for the labyrinth; one is "Making Progress in the Labyrinth of Tigers" and you raise it by doing various tasks on the different coils, and the other is "Navigating Coil ..." and it's whichever coil you are on (so, say "Navigating Coil 3" or whatever). The "Navigating..." quality drops when you go backwards in the labyrinth, but climbs again when you go forwards; it just tells you which coil you're in. The other is the one that has to be boosted in order to unlock future coils.

I remain puzzled, as I tried to have another go at it, and I don't seem to have a "making progress" quality at all, regardless of what I do. I have perhaps encountered a Bug. :p

That is so odd! I'm trying to remember which options I clicked on to start getting a "making progress" score, and I don't recall, but I think it happened very quickly after I got to the labyrinth. I don't remember having much trouble, anyway. Looking for the tiger keeper was definitely part of it ... I think that was how I started out.

But maybe it is a bug, if it's just not going anywhere -- like I said, I don't remember it being all that hard to get started (though it does get harder as you advance).

At the moment I have gone to Zee and reset all of my qualities not related to a scientific journey, so I will make a fresh start when I get tired of collating notes. :) I may have done something wonky previously.

I didn't even know you could reset things like that! But I'm still a relative newcomer to the Neath, all things considered. (I've only been playing for about a year.)

Right now I've got Echo Bazaar blocked on my home computer, partly because it was getting to be way too much of a distraction during the unlimited-action period, and partly because I was THISCLOSE to achieving one of my Ambition objectives and then accidentally eliminated a quality I needed for it, which is going to be really hard to get back -- and decided that my level of frustration was out of proportion to the fact that it's a game. *g* I'll restore access to it shortly, though I'm not sure if "shortly" will constitute a few days or a few weeks ... I suppose it depends on how long it takes withdrawal symptoms to set in!

If you find yourself in need of assistance, feel free to poke me (in game or otherwise), as I've been playing for what seems like ages, and have ridiculous amounts of some items stocked up.

I figured out the Labyrinth thing, btw -- I wasn't circle-grinding my "hunt is on" quality up enough to get the finding the tiger keeper options to appear.

...I hate circle-grinding. Raise this quality to 8, with the same 4 options, 5 times or more. Ugh. Really? Bored naow.

Sweet! :) Are you doing it via Twitter or Facebook? I'm on Facebook, but everyone else I know who's playing the game is doing it through Twitter, so I can't do any of the interactive stuff (unless I get a Twitter account, which I may have to break down and do *g*).

And the circle-grinding ... yeahhhh. Although it does give me something to do when I have actions to burn and no cards to flip over. *g* At the very least, I wish you could unlock different options as you raise your score, rather than having to see the same result over and over and OVER. (It also drives me crazy that most of the challenges only let you choose one of the top-level results and then kick you back to zero, so you have to build your score all the way back up to try a different one. Good way to increase your attributes, though, I guess.)

I think you can actually associate a FB account with a Twitter if you have both. I'll do it soon ... right now I'm still on my self-imposed Echo Bazaar hiatus. *g* But I'll let you know when I'm back in the game!
