It's that time of year again, ack

It isn't the appearance of Christmas decorations in the stores that signals we're getting all too close to the holiday season ... it's the appearance of signup posts for the Yule/Christmas/Secret Santa ficathons. *g*

hlh_shortcuts (Highlander) is taking signups through Sept. 30.

sga_santa is taking signups 'til Oct. 9.

sheppard_hc just opened signups for their gift fic exchange ('til Sept. 29).

I signed up for hlh_shortcuts (I'm so multifannish, just look at me these days) but I think that's the only one I'll be doing ... well, that and yuletart whenever their signups open, because that was hella fun last year.

I think I already floated the idea of doing a White Collar gift-fic exchange if one doesn't already exist (didn't I?), but in two days I'm leaving for the Internetless Wilds and I won't be back 'til sometime in the first or second week of October, so I wouldn't be able to do anything with it until then. Still, I'm quite open to the idea of running such a thing -- I'll muse about it while I'm gone and see how things develop when I get back.

And I still have to write my girlsavesboyfic story.

I caved and signed up for the Sheppard HC gift exchange after thinking that I wasn't going to this year. I'm so weak.

A White Collar gift exchange would be cool :D I had thought about doing another exchange in Collarcorner but decided I'd tortured everyone enough with the current fic exchange :/ Instead I'm thinking about doing something akin to Fandom Stocking where we post and leave each other WC related gifts (pics, vids, icons, ficlets, etc).

Have you seen kristen999's post here (http://kristen999.livejournal.com/394295.html) for fic_art_remix? It doesn't have a lot of fandoms to choose from but since WC was there I thought what the heck, I'll give it a go.

Oh oh, a fandom-stocking type thing for WC would be AWESOME. :D I certainly wouldn't say no to you running a holiday/secret-santa-type exchange (this is one of those cases where I'd only be running one myself because there's not already one out there), though I like the low-key, no-special-occasion nature of the current exchange. If I could only finish my story ... Actually one of the things that's making me drag my feet about running a holiday exchange is that I'm thoroughly bogged down in the collarcorner exchange at the moment. >_> It's hard to think ahead when I can't stop thinking about this one ...

But I had so much fun writing little fics for fandom stocking last year; I would absolutely love something like that for WC this year! It's so low-pressure and easy. It looked like a lot of work to mod, though, since the mod has to post all the "stockings" and then unscreen all the comments. But I think something like that would be fantastic!

Also, thanks for the reminder about fic_art_remix - I'd seen Kristen's post but hadn't got to look. I went ahead and offered my fic, though I'm not sure if I'll be choosing to remix anything.

This time of the year seems to start earlier each year....not long and we will sing christmas songs in the summer.

So, no gift exchange from me...if I'm in the mood, I'll write something especially for december again, but that's it.
