Okay, this is kinda funny, given that we've both vented about "Sanctuary", but once you have the characters under your belt (if you stick with it that far), check out The Great Game (http://archiveofourown.org/works/30304). It's a gen friendship (frenemy-ship?) piece, epistolary style, between Nikola and James of the Five. (I use those names so that if you don't know the characters yet, you won't be spoiled.) The writer gets the voices down perfectly, and it's just fun.
