Lost 6x14

...damn. We just lost Sun, Jin, Sayid and Frank all in one episode! That's *cold*. DDDDD:

On the other hand, we know a lot more about the Locke-monster's limitations, and it actually makes sense:

a) The smoke monster couldn't kill Jacob.

b) One of the candidates is going to be the new Jacob (theoretically, anyway).

c) The smoke monster can't kill any of them directly until one of them is "chosen". Presumably the others would be fair game if that ever happened. But in order for it to leave the island, either they have to all be dead, or it has to leave with them all. (Unless it's lying that they have to leave together; maybe the Locke-monster can only leave if they're dead. Not sure.)

In any case, it can't kill them directly, although apparently the monster subscribes to the same narrow definition of "murder" as Ben does ("I didn't kill him! The gun killed him! After my finger slipped on the trigger ..."). I'm also wondering if Kate is vulnerable to the monster since she's been crossed off the candidate list.

Besides Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley, on the island we've also still got Claire, Desmond (whose not-deadness has now been confirmed, yay), Richard, Ben (dammit), and Miles. Oh, and Widmore and any of his people who are still alive. Am I forgetting anybody? That's *it*. Wow.

Oh yeah, and seeing alt!Bernard in this episode made me wonder whatever happened to the other timeline's Bernard and Rose - if they blew up with the island when it got nuked in the '70s, or if they got thrown forward along with everyone else and have been happily living on the island while everyone else is running around shooting at each other.

... man, Sun and Jin's baby is an orphan now. This episode was depressing.

I've got to say. I've never seen a single eppy of "Lost" and reading this summary without context was both funny and kind of...seriously? This is on network TV? Not poking fun at the show at all, but I read it out of curiosity and it makes me wonder how other show's meta/story line's seem this fantastic without ever seeing it :-P

Yes, of course I have to stop watching just as things are getting interesting :P Well, they were getting interesting last season but this show has been so on-again/off-again with me that I finally just gave up. Well, that and I was ticked that they killed Faraday 'cause I liked him. It was the final straw for me when it comes to how kill-happy that show is.

And Faraday! That made me so happy. :D

Really? Wow.

The only character I remember dying (recently, for me, since I stopped watching at the end of season two) was Charlie. [poor Charlie!]

They've basically killed off every person that I like, besides the major characters! :(

Oh well. I guess I'll figure out everything that's happened when I rent the seasons and have a Lost-Marathon event.

Damn it, J.J. Abrams! Why do you keep killing off my favorite characters? Why?! XD
