oookay ... now my flight is cancelled until 12 p.m. tomorrow. NOT HAVING FUN. *wails*

Well, I guess I'll miss the first day of the con ... and all of my contact info and everything that I suddenly need to contact the con people and see if I can still register after missing the first day ... is on my desktop computer at home! Where I will hopefully be soon, except that *I* have the family cell and I think my husband is outside doing yardwork (in the smoke ...?) because he's not answering the phone.

This is the first time the entire summer that they've had to cancel flights due to weather! It just figures I'd be flying now ... XD

It IS the first flight, and that's even assuming they can land. This is the problem with a really tiny airport -- there are actually only two airlines that regularly fly in and out of here (Northwest and Alaska) and Northwest's the one I'm booked with ... ironically, the only one of the two that's having this problem, and by far the one with fewer flights in and out of Fairbanks.

Alaska doesn't offer nonstop flights to Minneapolis. The way things are going, though, I'm thinking that the nonstop flight wasn't the best deal in this case ...

*ouch*!!! I figured with a non-stop to a place that far it was a bigger airport!! The town I went to college in had a tiny airport - you know, small prop planes. *shudder* We'd drive the two hours to Phoenix to get a decent plane.

I emailed them and they're being very cool about it; I can check in Friday evening at the hospitality suite. But, man -- that's assuming I can even get out today; I'm still checking on weather and flights.

It's not a super-tiny airport, but it's mostly cargo -- we handle a lot of over-the-pole cargo flights from Europe and a lot of small prop planes, but not all that many passenger jet flights.

Ironically, if I'd booked with the other carrier, I'd be in good shape -- they aren't affected by the smoke at all! But Northwest is cancelling flights all over the place -- aaaaugh!
