The story takes place right after Faith, and since you said that you already saw all the episodes leading up to Faith. It's really great. It brings both of Sammy's worlds into a collition course that I have never seen done in such a realistic insightful way. There's a lot of brothers pathos and it lets you view the relationship between in the brothers and gives us glimpses into what life was for them during and before Sam leaves for Standford. There's no "fixes" or anything AU, you can read this story and feel it would fit nicely in the continuety of the show.
