Writing stuff
I signed up for
12in2008 in a fit of insanity stupidity madness something-or-other. Due to 2007 having been the Year in Which I Didn't Finish Anything, I'm hoping this'll give me the impetus to finish at least some of the things I start. Of course, that's what NaNo was supposed to do, too ...
So I've pledged to finish 12 original fiction pieces of 5,000 words or more, one of which needs to be a novel. *crosses fingers* C'mon, brain ... if I can write 700,000 words of fanfic in two years, surely I can manage this.
My writing blog (as mentioned in past posts) is located at
icefallstudio. There's not much there now, but I intend to post more starting in January -- and I *will* be finishing my NaNo novel in January and blogging my progress. Most of the content in
icefallstudio is locked, because it's original and I may want to polish it up and publish it, but just ask to be friended, or friend me without asking, and I'll friend you back.

I have, though, made one new year's resolution. I will finish that John/Rodney slave story. It's one story that just really, really nags me and I have done a bit more on it but not really enough. And every time I take a break from it I forget key characters and have to re-read, refamiliarize myself with it so...that's what I'm going to work on in 2008 exclusively until it's done. And it's going to be a novel all the way. Maybe I might finish it by 2009
Edited to add (because I hit reply too soon), here's to both of us finishing what we set out to do! You've been I think more prolific than I this year so I think you'll be up for the challenge. And I can't wait to read the by-products of your work. :) I put an ebook reader on my 'next years' list for Christmas because I've missed so much fic this year.

p.s. Among other DVDs, I got my husband the first season of NCIS for Christmas. I may have some ulterior motives there. *grin* We oughta start watching it as soon as we get to a stopping place on Numb3rs.
Cheers for the New Year...
I'm going to give myself an easy goal. I have three stories I want to put out before the end of 2008. One of them is the Lorne story in the East of the Sun, West of the Moon universe that Dossier has put together. I have a short John/Ronon vigniette, and a PainKiller Jane/SGA crossover story that just seems to get bigger and bigger as I work on it....
Happy New Year!
