FMA fic insta-rec
I'm slowly working my way up to a full post of FMA fic recs, but I had to drop an insta-rec for this one:

sister_coyote (~4800 wds) - I am a huge sucker for stories that deal sympathetically with a character living with a disability, and this is a really fantastic story that traces Havoc's recovery and slow re-integration with his teammates, plus a developing friendship (and more?) with Sheska/Sciezka, the little librarian with the photographic memory, as they bond over books. This is a lovely look between the gaps of canon at some of Arawaka's wonderfully vivid supporting characters (most of Mustang's group put in appearances at some point) and there are glimpses of Amestrian pop culture, too - popular authors and book genres - which is another thing that totally gets me in a happy way. :D Even if a Havoc/Sciezka pairing doesn't really sound like your thing, you might want to take a look anyway - it's mostly gen, and the author makes the characters, and Arakawa's world, come alive in a really wonderful way.
