That slowly building sense of "something's not right" and then the "click!" was what I was going for, so yay! :D And I'm glad the mood came across that way; that's what I hoped for (though I admit I did snivel a bit writing it, because I killed my team!).

What I actually meant -- what I meant John to mean, that is -- in the scene with the laptop is the power supply, not the laptop itself. Rodney can handle the idea of being dead-yet-conscious better than he can handle the idea of being dead and breaking the laws of physics in minor ways; it's sort of his coping mechanism.
