Once I'd decided that the story wasn't really going to be a deathfic, I'd set out to make it look like one and then pull off that "Yay!" moment at the end, so I'm happy that it worked out that way. And I'm getting awfully tempted to write a sequel with Annie and Rodney meeting again, so many people have asked for one.
