You know, I hadn't even thought about that, but you're right -- the show has really driven a wedge between the brothers over the last season, and maybe that's one of the reasons why I've been pulling away; I want to see them in each other's corner, not distrusting each other and playing their own individual games. (Though part of it goes back to the growing darkness in each of them, and especially in Sam -- it's getting to the point where they can't trust each other.)

The torture thing. Yeah. See, that's pretty much where Lost, um, "lost" me, too -- a nonstop string of "end justifies the means" scenarios, to the point where I didn't really like any of the characters anymore.
