Heh. Your post made perfect sense to me, and made me feel a bit less alone because it seemed like there was a lot of squee for this episode and very little of the "ewww" that I was feeling!

Like I said above, I think I might save episodes 'til the finale and then watch them. Right now, though, I just don't much care.
