Dear Summer of Horror creator

Hi! Thank you so much for writing for me! I'm very excited to see what you come up with, and I'm sure I'll like whatever you make.

Don't worry about whether you're sticking close enough to the requested horror type, or whether your story is horror enough. If the story wanders, that's fine. The prompts are for suggestions only and not meant to confine you to only writing those ideas. I'm fine with something short and atmospheric rather than plotty (but also love long plotty fic!). You can also feel free to mix and match prompts from different requests, as long as my DNW and pairing requests are respected.

I welcome treats!

General likes: Hurt/comfort, friendship and enemies-to-friends (+ lovers), case fic, sharing small spaces (beds, hotel rooms, tents, spaceship escape pods), banter, characters caring about each other, nightmares, aftermath of traumatic events, domesticity, cuddling/snuggling (of either a gen or shippy variety), canon-divergent or "add supernatural to canon" AUs, optimism in the face of terrible odds.

Horror likes: Spooks, chills, ghosts, big old houses or creepy woods or abandoned spaceships with Bad Things half-seen out of the corner of your eye. Seemingly normal or too-perfect settings (suburbia, small towns, offices, etc) with something Very Bad underneath. Surprises and twists. Mild body horror, such as heads turning around backward or jaws unhinging, or characters being modified in mad science experiments against their will. Creepypasta and urban legends. Characters banding together to fight evil. Bravery in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds. Having to go to the afterlife to bring back a dead person, especially at great cost. Characters saving each other generally. Evil doppelgangers (and subsequent attempts to rescue the replaced person/figure out who the replaced people are). Unreliable narrators, e.g. the narrator IS the doppelganger and doesn't know it. Rituals and magic, especially being performed by characters who don't really know what they're doing but are Just That Desperate. Characters meeting their AU counterparts from a worse dimension. Life-sharing, especially in an h/c context, such as a person being able to transfer or share their life with someone else in an emergency, or realizing someone else is draining it and having to choose whether to cut the tie and lose them. Werewolves and shifters, especially (for horror purposes) with some body-horror elements to the transformation.

Horror Do Not Want: Insect horror (mention of flies around corpses = fine; detailed descriptions of bugs crawling on people = no); horror/harm involving eyes and teeth (but situations where it's canonical at canon-typical levels are fine, e.g. Babylon 5).

Fandoms

Biggles series - W.E. Johns
Algy Lacey & Erich Von Stalhein
James "Biggles" Bigglesworth & Algy Lacey & Erich von Stalhein
James "Biggles" Bigglesworth & Erich Von Stalhein
James Bigglesworth & Ginger Hebblethwaite & Algy Lacey & Bertie Lissie & Erich von Stalhein

Subgenres: Cosmic Horror, Dark Fantasy, Folk Horror, Gothic Horror, Monster Horror, Paranormal Horror, Supernatural Horror, Survival Horror

Canon-specific DNW: Focus on Erich in WW2.

Pairings: I enjoy Biggles/EvS anywhere on the scale from flirty enemies to full HEA. I also like EvS/Algy, though prefer it more as fuckbuddies/fuck-or-die/etc than a romantic HEA. And I am always good with gen!

This fandom has produced some wonderful horror fic in past exchanges, and I am here to request it again!

I am totally here for a more horror-themed take on the kinds of adventures they have in canon! Bermuda Triangle, appearing/disappearing islands, ghost ships/ghost planes, haunted houses and castles, creepy forests, monsters in the woods, Black Dogs, eerie moors, weird little villages with strange folk rituals, etc. I have requested relationships involving Erich, but I'm fine if he's there as an ally or an enemy, or some ambiguous frenemy/ally-of-circumstance situation in between.

There is wonderful scope for ghosts and paranormal/supernatural horror in this canon, such as eerie buildings, haunted battlefields, anything dealing with their war dead, the discovery that someone they thought survived didn't (or vice versa), etc.

I am completely here for horrible or supernatural things happening to Erich in Sakhalin, or in his life generally - perhaps he is used in some sort of terrible experiment, or Sakhalin prisoners are having their life forces drained to feed a supernatural horror. (Rescue is very welcome! Terrible or ambiguous endings are also welcome!) I also really enjoy canon with added supernatural elements, e.g. Erich - or someone else, Biggles, Algy, etc - being able to see ghosts, or always being some kind of supernatural creature.

Another idea I would really enjoy is Biggles being replaced by an evil AU doppelganger, and everyone slowly coming to realize that he's Wrong, and rescuing the real one. Perhaps Erich recognizes that it's not the right Biggles because this one is genuinely cruel to him? Maybe he thinks he deserves it? Erich or one of the others being replaced by a doppelganger is also excellent, of course! (Maybe Erich thinks that no one would notice, and is surprised when Biggles does notice, and rescues him?)

I would also really enjoy something atmospheric and wistful involving the characters looking back on people they've lost, or having some kind of sad/sweet encounter in a graveyard, having to let go of some connection to a dead person they've carried around with them, etc. An AU in which a canon character is dead, and we slowly realize they're dead, is fine with me; so is a rescue/fixit in which they start out dead and someone drags them back from the afterlife or changes the timeline! (Maybe with eerie or awful knock-on effects down the road - or maybe not!)

MASH
Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce & Charles Emerson Winchester III
Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan & Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce
Solo: Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan (MASH)

Subgenres: Comedic Horror, Cosmic Horror, Dark Fantasy, Folk Horror, Gothic Horror, Institutional Horror, Medical Horror, Monster Horror, Paranormal Horror, Psychological Horror, Science Fiction Horror, Supernatural Horror, Survival Horror

Canon-specific DNW: Mixing characters from different eras in which they do not appear, unless the AU-ness is part of the plot (e.g. I don't want Radar, Trapper, etc in seasons where they don't canonically appear - unless they're a ghost or the weirdness of having them there is part of the plot, which I'm fine with!)

Pairings: I enjoy Hawkeye/Charles; I'm also good with canon flirtiness between Hawkeye and Margaret (or Hawkeye and anyone), as well as canon pairings like Margaret and her various boyfriends. But pure gen is great too!

MASH lends itself very well to horror, especially horror of an eerie, ghostly variety (which is borderline canon) or existential horror about the situation they're in. Things could also get even weirder: what if the war is some kind of simulation, and one person figures it out but no one believes them? I'm fine with any kind of Just Plain Weird™ that you want to pull off, trippy mind-bendy stuff, that kind of thing.

Another idea that comes to mind is having a canon character die, or nearly die, and end up having to haunt the 4077 - maybe Charles doesn't survive "The Life You Save" (that bullet could have gone into his head, after all, or he might've died at the front) or Hawkeye and Margaret gradually realize that they didn't come back alive from one of their various trips to the front/other MASH units. But it could also be a near death experience - perhaps someone's brush with death leaves them able to see ghosts, or they spend some time in a coma and experience the (canonical!) ghost side of the 4077 and can never see it the same way again.

I would also enjoy a fic leaning more into the paranormal or monsters. Perhaps the 4077 begins to receive casualties that were obviously torn up by something that isn't the usual bullets and shrapnel, or rumors spread that there's something unnatural in the woods near the camp. Maybe Hawkeye and Charles, or Hawkeye and Margaret, or Margaret and some of her nurses are dispatched to another MASH unit that turns out to be dealing with something horrifying, or get stranded on the way not by artillery, but by Something Bad that traps them.

A lighter possibility would be something like the Halloween episode in which everyone is telling ghost stories, except it's clear that the ghost stories are coming true to an extent. Or a prank involving ghosts or creepiness, or even a Halloween story other than the canonical version, with costumes and ghost stories and other Halloween fun. Or something Scooby-Doo-esque, where the 4077 appears to be haunted but the characters figure out that something else is going on.

Other characters are more than welcome to appear, although the above requested ones are my favorites.

Babylon 5
Solo: Londo Mollari
G'Kar & Londo Mollari
Delenn & G'Kar & Londo Mollari
Lyta Alexander & G'Kar

Subgenres: Body Horror, Comedic Horror, Cosmic Horror, Dark Fantasy, Folk Horror, Gothic Horror, Institutional Horror, Medical Horror, Monster Horror, Paranormal Horror, Psychological Horror, Science Fiction Horror, Supernatural Horror, Survival Horror

Pairings: I ship G'Kar/Londo, but I also love them in a gen/platonic way. I also enjoy Delenn/Sheridan (in general, canon ships are always welcome to appear in fic for me unless specifically DNW'd). I am open to Lyta/G'Kar, but if you do that, I would prefer it in a fuckbuddies or fuck-or-die context rather than a romantic HEA (but gen fic is always fine). For this fandom, I'm also fine with xeno sex and explicit ratings.

Moving on to the specifics: Londo's life basically *is* space horror for a large part of it, so you can feel free to write me something short and atmospheric (or long and terrible, etc) that leans into the horror of living with the Drakh. However, I am also delighted with the whole idea of a Big Damn Rescue (with horror and comfort!); the above tags let you know who my faves are to interact with him (G'Kar and Delenn), but I also adore Vir, others welcome too. I also enjoy the headcanon of Londo and G'Kar retaining a bit of a telepathic connection after the Dust incident, so feel free to lean into that if you like, in the form of dream-sharing or pain-sharing or a means of freeing Londo from the Drakh (or sucking G'Kar *into* the Drakh hive mind) or whatever you want to do. Londo meeting up with his friends again in the afterlife is also something I would enjoy. Maybe Delenn and Vir (+ Lyta, or others) go full-on Big Damn Rescue and get G'Kar and Londo out of the afterlife; that's the kind of fixit AU I could totally go for, especially with tons of creepy afterlife ambiance!

Or, if you want to go earlier, Londo having some kind of horror experience on his own, either during the B5 era or earlier in his life, would also be great!

Lyta and G'Kar's space road trip is tailor-made for space horror! Perhaps they encounter something weird or creepy: a seemingly abandoned spaceship, a planet where things are just Wrong, an alien visitor on their ship, any sort of deeply creepy first-contact situation or other classic space horror trope or survival situation. Or if you have an idea for something that might happen with them during the show timeline, go for it! Lyta was a stealth fave of mine in the show, and I liked the darker turn she took later, while still retaining a lot of hero qualities; I would like to see how her friendship with G'Kar develops, Lyta struggling with the modifications the Vorlons made to her and whether she still considers herself fully human, etc. (Also mixing and matching with other relationships is great, Lyta helping G'Kar do something about Londo and the Drakh, etc.)

The Londo-G'Kar-Delenn triad were one of my favorite things throughout the show; they have so many different facets and layers. My favorite era for them is late season four and season five, with all the fondness and banter and ride-or-die for each other, but earlier eras are great too! I would love to see the trio, or Londo & G'Kar, in some sort of horror situation, on B5 or on Centauri Prime or Minbar or sent on a mission somewhere. You could really lean into eeriness or h/c for this. Maybe Londo Comes Back Wrong from his near death experience in 5x02, or someone ends up having to go in to get him, participate in afterlife trials with him, that kind of thing? They are all probably haunted by their war dead - perhaps literally. Maybe killing Cartagia was only the start of their problems; what if he really did become a god, or attached himself in some metaphysical fashion to one of the people involved in his murder? (As mentioned above, I adore Vir and his friendship with Londo, so lots of Vir is welcome!)

You can also really lean into ghosts on B5, creepy stories, cultural tales that carry emotional significance (what kind of ghost stories do they tell on Narn, Minbar, or Centauri Prime? what kind of urban legends do they have?) or other general eeriness.

I am also happy with something playful and fun and friendshippy, like characters telling ghost stories or celebrating a holiday. Maybe something involving an AU of the Day of the Dead episode with different visitations or a creepier outcome, or a similar holiday from some other culture? Do humans on B5 celebrate Halloween and get their alien friends involved? The show itself has a lot to work with, so feel free to pick up on something creepy or horror-ish from an earlier episode and use it!
