I can't remember any. The closest is the Shadows doing their shimmer in and out of hyperspace and that's just because they seem not to need jump tech and also it looks skin-crawling.
I also like that they use energy weapons rather than projectile weapons as spacefaring sidearms not because it looks high-tech but to avoid accidentally punching holes in the hull, and this is specifically addressed in at least one episode.
Yes! Which actually strikes me as contributing to the horror of the mass drivers: if the use of projectile weapons has been discouraged as a matter of safety that becomes a cross-cultural norm, then on top of their planet-killing capacity, big fucking railguns just look barbaric.
