A rare political post
This viral Bluesky post sums up a lot of people's thought process yesterday, I expect. I've landed on .... strangely positive?!
Feeling the energy and the enthusiasm on the left right now is really something. The first, last, and only time in my life as an adult voter - having first voted in 1994 - that I felt this kind of feeling around me was in 2008, like we weren't just gritting our teeth and voting for the least worst option, but really felt excited about what might happen. There are still a lot of ways this could go badly, but here's crossing my fingers that history might repeat in the not-bad way (for a change).

Thoughtful comments with mixed feelings are fine - I mean, my feelings have been all over the place; I started off at "so I guess the Democrats have decided to give up" when the news of Biden stepping down was first announced - but no preemptive dooming in the comments, please, unless you have an actual crystal ball giving you the Nov. 2024 results, in which case I'd like the winning lottery numbers too.
