I liked the first ones in the series, enjoyed Penric's Mission for very similar reasons, then found Mira's Last Dance a bit of a slog and haven't read any of the others yet, but it sounds like I might want to catch up again. I've found a lot of Bujold's recent stuff to be more hit and miss, when her id overlaps with mine it's great and when it doesn't, not so much.
