Heh - I'm glad it made sense, I hadn't actually thought of it myself until the comment! Which is good, because the thing about Replicators not being able to Ascend did bother me, but now I'm okay with it...

(And it does seem to contradict SG-1, but then a lot about the Ancients does - SG-1 was sort of agnostic - the Goa'uld were fake gods but there might be the real deal somewhere - while SGA is more atheist, belief only in what is proved, and the Ancients being more evolutionarily advanced does not grant them any sort of spiritual superiority...)
