Ha, yeah - I was warned about that ahead of time and glad to be, because that would have been really brutal otherwise; in fact it was pretty brutal anyway! I feel like the series really dips in quality in the middle (there's at least one I haven't read, and a couple I had to drag myself through), but then the last couple of books were back in good form, and I'm looking forward to whatever comes next.
