Haha! I think it's because people were calling him Baby Yoda everywhere - which, okay, legit.

I also don't think it had really hit me 'til watching this show that nobody in the past, oh, 40 years or so has actually met Yoda other than Luke, and prior to that he was pretty much just a somewhat reclusive and basically unique member of the Jedi council, so literally nobody in their universe knows what this baby is, as opposed to the way he's instantly recognizable to us. To them he's just yet another random alien in a galaxy that has hundreds or thousands of various intelligent specials, not "oh shit that's a high-powered Jedi baby." That was a very interesting thing to realize.
