Yeah, I think it was starting to get to me a bit too, because it was what, EIGHT YEARS??? (give or take a bit) of Vlad being constantly on the run, separated from all the people he loves, when the books have consistently made a point that Vlad is an extremely loyal and gregarious person who really likes being around people. After awhile it was starting to get fairly depressing and while I'm sure it made the books fun to write by offering new places, new people, and all kinds of interesting obstacles to work around (no teleportation, no telepathy), it was also getting to me quite a bit and I'm glad it's over. Well, hopefully it's over.
