I had actually completely missed that I'd won "overall best" in the SGA fan awards until several people pointed it out in the comments of my last SGA post. I am such a dork. XD

... but, seriously, that just boggles me, in a stunned and blushing and really amazed kind of way. There are so many brilliant authors in this fandom that I would never have expected anything like this. Thank you, thank you, to all the voters and readers, everyone who nominated me and voted for me. (I'd also like to thank the Academy and my mother. XD) I've had a really wonderful time in this fandom so far, and, my last post notwithstanding, I don't expect to be wooed away from the Atlantis bunch anytime in the foreseeable future. (Though I may have a side dalliance here and there.)

Truly Shipper I think you are about if not the Mount Everest of SGA fanfiction. You are the author to aspire toward. I mean, for me, you are like the kind of writer I want to become. Another SGA author and myself were discussing this very issue the other day and the conclusion is that you elevate SGA fanfics to another level. So kudos to you! I raise my chocolate truffle shot glass at you!

Your fics have been a bit of a hot topic over at the ADB forum, even before the wnners were announced -- partially because of Leesa Perrie, but others bring up your work from time to time. :) And of course there's bneen a fair amount of mentions of you there of late, and on Twitter -- so when I said I knew you, one of the gals, welshgirl, asked me to tell you that she loves your stuff. :D Of course, she probably meant for me to tell you in person, but that'd be a bit tricky for us these days, sou desu ne? XP Anyway, it's so cool to be able to say I knew you when! ^^ (Well, okay, better than the people who *just* know you from your fics, anyway. At least I can say we've met in person, and worked together a bit, known each other for a few years now, etc. :D)

Yes, it's been awhile. Are you still in the Midwest? I've been wanting to get down to a con again ... right now I'm thinking about the West Coast cons (less travel time from Alaska) but I'm really starting to miss the convention circuit and all of the creators and Tarts that I used to hook up with.

Nay, I'm stuck in Florida -- have been for four years. I miss Chicago terribly -- lthough, thanks to Stargate, I'm starting to consider Seattle, if I ever have money again. I'm pretty much stranded and broke, at the mo. At least I get to go to Dragon*Con this summer ...
