I've seen a couple of personal reactions from people who are upset, annoyed, and resolving to ignore the epilogue, which isn't actually THAT hard in this fandom because it's one of the ones where there's a lot of extra-canonical canon anyway, and I think that's really the only thing you can do. The fandom as a whole was always a flaming dumpster fire and probably isn't any less of one now.
