I think at this point, it's probably a toss-up between Elisa Kerr (I also like the Alyssa Kerr spelling, but I think I like Elisa Kerr even better) and Mar Delaney. I love that the top vote-getters in the poll were also my favorites going into it. Though Evelyn Rae is also a strong contender.

I have to admit that I also had a soft spot for Melissa Dean, but Elisa Kerr is really nice (and I do like the "Elisa" spelling even better, too)!

I'm still all about Mar Delaney. (And I think Mer would open up more pronunciation confusion.)

Distinctive is good. Think of Mur Lafferty. Memorable.

I far prefer Mar to Mer (because SGA associations XD ), but I also am starting to come around to Mar Delaney as a nick over the other choices (that I voted for). It feels different and fun.

Other than Laylasaurus Rex, Mar Delaney is the one that feels least generic.

Uhhh, I picked Mar Delaney because it sounded gayer to me. >.> But also I am interested in finding more original f/f to read, so I hope you announce which name wins so I can look for works under it! :D

I like Elisa Kerr, but I also agree that Mar Delaney sounds gayer. Go with Mar over Mer if you do use that one. Mer sounds more like the ocean, so unless you’ll be writing about lesbian and bi mermaids, go with Mar.

I find 'Mar' and 'Mer' equally difficult to pronounce (possibly a non-rhotic accent problem). I really like the rhythm of Alyssa Kerr.

...please do not pick variations on Meredith, having spent most of my life NEVER having anyone else with my name I never got used to sharing it and not twitching to attention every time I come across it, and a significant chunk of my blood family call me "Mer". >.>
