This is the show I want to watch each week -- no big giant space battles (though they're fun from time to time), just ultra-dorky space explorers bumbling around and succeeding in spite of themselves
Oh, yes! Plots and arcs and everything are all good, but the self-contained episodes can be so much fun.
I really wasn't sure how much I'd like the episode in the beginning - Sam, Keller and Rodney aren't the most obviously dynamic trio - but I really enjoyed it. I like Sam a lot, and Rodney was wonderful, and I was really happy with the way Gero wrote Keller. As a Teyla fan in particular, I'm almost ashamed to admit that I didn't like Missing all that much; I love Jewel Staite, but I found Keller whiny, shaky (which a doctor - particularly one posted in an alien galaxy - shouldn't be), and uninteresting, and her single kickass moment at the end didn't really convince me that the character had actually grown as a result of her experience. On the other hand, I found her much more likeable in this ep - more like the way I wanted to see her than the way she seemed to have been portrayed.
