I think a more calculated interpretation - like, "Karen wishes to be with Matt, so she's trying to get Foggy to roleplay Matt for her", which is definitely what I'm getting from some of the fic, is just ... not her, I think? It's cruel. And Karen doesn't seem like a cruel person, or someone who would willingly jerk someone else around.
