... I'm done!

At 65,000 words, that's one (1) rough draft of an original YA fantasy novel. *lays down pen*

(Well, okay, I write on the computer mostly, but laying down the keyboard is a much less satisfying metaphor. Besides, I'm still typing on it. *g*)

Okay, now -- I had set aside the entire month of October (tentatively) for working on this novel, so now I have some free time, so to speak! The rest of October is going to be given over to fanfic (my SpookMe story; probably try to get started on my Sheppard_HC one too) and brainstorming/worldbuilding for my NaNo novel. Yes, Virginia, there is a NaNo this year!

Holy moley, I wrote a lot today. And this despite only having about two functional brain cells.

55500 / 60000 (92.50%)

You'll notice that the goalposts have moved, because I passed my original goal of 52K words, and uh ... there's still some novel to go. (Although we're through the climactic battle scene -- mostly -- so now it's just a matter of wrapping things up and nailing together some bits I'd written earlier.)

I don't want to go to work tomorrow; I want to stay home and write ...

Novel status:

46500 / 52000 (89.42%)

(Of course, the 52K is just a ballpark estimate; it's a YA and there are basically two "halves" to it, and the first one came out around 26K, so that's where I estimated the total. I tend to write long. We'll see.)

Also ... regarding tea ... genmaicha? Definitely an acquired taste. One of my co-workers bought some and didn't like it, so she gave it to me; it's roasted/popped brown rice blended with green tea. Tastes kind of like stewed popcorn, IMHO.

I just signed up for yuletart. HELP. Okay, I am not signing up for anything else NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING until after Christmas. Really. I mean it this time.
