Oh, this is wonderful. The three of them are such a little family.
The beginning is really evocative, and the way Peter thinks about Neal and El as he's passing out would break my heart if I didn't know everything was going to be okay.
Perhaps what makes me the happiest is how normal so much of it seems. The banter about the IV and Neal taste testing Peter's yogurt could be happening on an ordinary day. It drives home that no matter what's going on around them, Peter and Neal's friendship is something solid and stable in both their lives.
And I adore Elizabeth here. Getting Peter a room with a window! Grappling hook! One of the things I've always loved about El is how nonchalant she is about the insanity that is her life. With Peter, it seems that every once in a while he looks around and goes, "How is this my life?" (Nothing wrong with that. Very sensible reaction.) But El takes it all in stride. If she has to distract the FBI so that a fugitive can sneak into her house, or if a cake with a file in it needs baking, then by god, that's what she'll do, and you've really captured that here.
The ending is really sweet, and I like how much is going unspoken (but of course they understand each other anyway).
