Meme! (or: I am a huge nerd. But I knew that already)

I don't have time for memes, I really don't, but this was too much fun not to!

As seen everywhere (including [livejournal.com profile] astridv and [livejournal.com profile] ratcreature):

1. Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands that you've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in at some time in your life.
2. Have your f-list guess your favourite character/member from each item.

My first reaction was ... only 20?! *g* When I just scribbled down a list off the top of my head, I came up with 27, and then I kept thinking of ones I'd forgotten. I think I could get to 40 or 50 easily. So this is by no means a comprehensive list ... just some of the various stuff I've obsessed on in the last 20 years! (And I had to leave off some because the favorite character answer would have been EVERYONE. Like Discworld ... I started counting favorite characters and gave up after about 10. *g*)

I'll edit the list to include the answers once you guys have a chance to do some guessing. The most right answers wins a short (... really really short) fic for the prompt/fandom of your choice, assuming of course it's something I write -- so guess on as many as you can! Some of these have more than one right answer, i.e. more than one favorite (though I kept it down to the ones where I don't have more than two) and I'll accept anything that's correct!

1. Stargate Atlantis
2. Stargate SG1
3. Supernatural
4. Star Trek: TOS
5. Good Omens
6. Wiseguy
7. Saiyuki (manga or anime)
8. Sandman (Neil Gaiman)
9. Bleach (manga)
10. Life on Mars (UK)
11. Buffy
12. Torchwood
13. Red Dwarf
14. Invisible Man
15. Fullmetal Alchemist (anime)
16. One Piece (manga or anime ... but I've only seen up to episode 100 and not even that far in the manga, so take that into account!)
17. Justice League International (the Giffen/DeMatteis years) (comic)
18. Power Man & Iron Fist (comic)
19. Amber books (Roger Zelazny)
20. Vorkosigan books (Lois McMaster Bujold)

Hee! I keep meaning to ... I still have warm feelings for the show. It's on Hulu, is it? *perks* The second season isn't available on DVD and I haven't seen most of it since it originally aired -- hmm!

It's too bad because there was a pretty active h/c and buddy-fic fandom back in the day (though I hadn't yet experienced SGA fandom at that point -- I think my baseline for an active fandom is forever skewed!). I'm not sure what flavor of fic you're looking for, but my favorite author back in the day was Lucy Hale (http://www.squirreltail.net/lucyhale/im.html); she writes both slash and gen (and some of her stories that are labeled slash actually read as gen to me, like "Flowers", one of my all-time favorites). The show used to have a pretty strong presence on ff.net; you might want to check it out if you aren't categorically opposed to reading fic on the Pit of Voles!

Yep, and it's actually on youtube as well, although the quality of the second season on there isn't great. But worth keeping in mind if Hulu really does start charging subscription fees in 2010.

Thanks for the recs! I've definitely read Flowers, but not most of her other work, and I haven't done as much digging into ff.net as I probably could have. (Oh, back in the days before livejournal!) I'll have to get on that once I finally have some free time. :D
